About Our Basic Computer Courses
Our basic computer courses are designed for anyone looking to learn skills in using a computer. Participants may be completely new to computers and require basic skills including how to use the mouse and keyboard. We can deliver small-group training at your workplace to train staff inhouse or provide one on one training to cover specific skills that you need in your role. Whether you’re returning to using a computer after some time in another position or needing to get familiarised with computers fast, our Sydney basic computer course is for you.
Our basic computer course covers everything you need to know to make the most of your computer’s powerful features. Starting with the basics, we teach you how to start up and shut down a computer safely, launch programs, use the Internet, create folders to store files, customise your computer environment and more.
Once you have basic computer skills, this opens up the ability to undertake courses for specific programs such as Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets, Microsoft Word for word processing or Microsoft Outlook for email.
Our basic computer training is delivered face-to-face in Sydney, usually at your workplace (but we can organise an offsite venue if preferred). Face-to-face training provides the opportunity to share tips and tricks that are not easily shared online. Our hands-on training gives you the chance to use your own computer to practice your skills and reinforce learning. We believe that if you don’t play around with the computer yourself, you won’t get the most from your learning.
We highly recommend our basic computer courses are undertaken face to face. Using online learning includes a whole other set of skills which many first time computer users may not feel confident to do. Having a trainer present to guide them through each process helps to improve confidence.
Our Sydney basic computer courses are full-day sessions, covering everything you need to know to get started using a computer. Our trainer comes to you, so you can select a day that best suits your business and minimise unnecessary travel for your staff. Generally, classes start at 9:00 am and finish around 4:00 pm, but we can customise these times to suit your needs, offering half-day or shorter sessions if required.
During our basic computer training, you’ll have the option to purchase a detailed training manual to support your learning (note, manuals are not included in our training fees). Following the completion of the basic training course, you will also be provided with on-going support via email. We don’t place any time limits on this support, so you can access this service as needed, as long as your support queries remain related to the content covered in the training session.
Our Sydney basic computer courses are delivered by qualified trainers who hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110) and have experience across the suite of Microsoft Office products. This means you’ll gain both the theoretical and practical knowledge you need to master Excel. In most cases, your trainer will be Belinda Anderson, a Microsoft software trainer, with a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and over 19 years’ experience in the training industry.
